Feeding

Feeding is often seen with the existence of airway obstruction and are complicated by the presence of a cleft palate.
It’s important to note that Infants are obligate nasal breathers and the presence of choanal atresia will disturb feeding further.

Also hindering feeding are:

• Small oral cavity
• limited jaw opening
• overcrowding of teeth due to mandibular hypoplasia
