Micrognathia or glossoptosis present usually with Treacher Collins Syndrome causes chronic upper airway obstruction that can lead to apnea-associate conditions with varying degrees of severity which is independent of severity of phenotype.
Obstructive Sleep apnea is very common in Treacher Collins syndrome in prevalence from 46-100%.
Patients with Treacher Collins Syndrome have a higher risk of relapse of Obstructive sleep apnea even after treatment.
