Speech
Treacher Collins syndrome causes a patient to have abnormal intraoral relationships:
- The tongue is disproportionately large in relation to the oral cavity
- The presence of cleft palates
- abnormal movement of the mandible will contribute to speech anomalies.
Auricular and ossicular anomalies that lead to hear loss, acts as a barrier to normal speech and language development.
Most patients with Treacher Collins Syndrome have at least a moderate conductive hearing loss.
